Our Owners
El-Kretsen was established by Swedish industry to create a shared, efficient, and sustainable solution for producer responsibility. Our owners consist of industry associations representing companies in the electronics and battery sectors.
In Sweden, there are many industry and trade associations that bring together companies with common challenges and goals. Producer responsibility is one such topic, where companies across several sectors recognised the need to cooperate to create an efficient, competitive, and sustainable system.
When producer responsibility for electrical equipment was introduced in 2001, El-Kretsen was founded as a joint solution for the business sector. The organisation is owned by various industry associations that together represent producers, importers, and retailers of electrical products and batteries. The owners are responsible for El-Kretsen’s overall direction and development, while the organisation is open to all companies covered by producer responsibility.
