Order Material for Your Recycling Centre
Recycling centres handle many different types of waste that require various forms of treatment. That’s why El-Kretsen offers all affiliated recycling centres the opportunity to order materials that help make handling safer.
All Swedish municipalities or municipal companies with an agreement with El-Kretsen can order different types of material for their recycling centres – all to make handling of electrical and battery waste both safer and easier.
El-Kretsen offers battery grids, fire extinguishers for lithium-ion batteries, boxes for extra-long fluorescent tubes, and of course sorting signs. Read more under each category.
Battery Grids
Swedish recycling centres affiliated with El-Kretsen can order grids for battery boxes. Orders are placed centrally for all recycling centres in the municipality or region, one grid per facility, and delivered to a central recycling centre for further distribution. The grids are made to order and have a delivery time of approximately five weeks.

Note that a recycling centre with only one battery box does not need a grid – since the entire battery fraction is then sorted as “lithium-based batteries.”
Fire Extinguishers for Lithium-Ion Batteries
In recent years, El-Kretsen has recorded an increased number of lithium-based batteries in the recycling stream. Because lithium-ion batteries are heat-sensitive, handling them involves an increased fire hazard. Therefore, recycling centres can order fire extinguishers in case of an emergency.

Note that lithium fire extinguishers cannot withstand temperatures below +5°C. Therefore, store them in a dedicated heated cabinet (in Swedish) or indoors.
Boxes for Fluorescent Tubes
Because some fluorescent tubes do not fit in standard waste containers, recycling centres can order special boxes for handling extra-long fluorescent tubes. The boxes are intended for tubes longer than 2 metres. Be sure to follow the handling instructions, store the box in a weather-protected area, and don’t forget to report stock levels in the “Insamlare” app.

Note: If the box is not reported in the “Insamlare” app, the carrier cannot collect it during pick-up.
Signs
El-Kretsen uses Avfall Sverige’s signage system for waste sorting. As an Swedish affiliated customer, you can order the signs with El-Kretsen’s logo.
