Fees

Product List and Fees

The product list is divided into three sections,Consumer electronic equipment, Other electronic equipment and Batteries. According to SFS 2022:1276 and EU 2023/1542. Codes with G: Green fees must be substantiated with documents showing that the product meets the requirements for a lower fee. Read more under “Green fees” in My Pages.

The fees apply for 2026.

VAT is added to all prices listed.

Category 1: Temperature control equipment

Fixed fees

Annual charge SEK 500 for electronic equipment and SEK 15,000 for batteries.

One-time fee SEK 1,000 entry fee for electronic equipment.

Annual charge SEK 7,500 for the Authorised Representative contract agreement (for electronic equipment). The amount includes the supervision fee.

SEK 6,000 SEK/year for declaration of packaging via El-Kretsen.

General terms and conditions

VALIDITY

This price list applies as of 1 January 2026.

VARIABLE CHARGE

Charges depending on amounts or kilos. See ” WHAT IS INCLUDED IN THE ENVIRONMENTAL FEE?”.

REPORTING INTERVALS

Monthly: Connected Companies report their sales on a monthly bases no later than the 10th of the following month.

Quarterly: A Connected Company that wishes to report quarterly may do so. For quarterly reporting an interest of 2 per cent per month is charged for the intermediate months to cover liquidity and administration.

The current declaration period for packaging is declared no later than the 20th of the following month.

Please note that reporting is required even if the kilos, pieces and/or charge amounts to SEK 0. This is because the reporting forms the basis for the annual reporting to the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency.

Amounts that do not exceed SEK 50 are only invoiced at the end of the calendar year. Declarations submitted after the deadline will be subject to a late fee of SEK 300 and interest of 2%.

PRODUCT CATEGORY COVER

The products in the product list are covered by the producer responsibility for which El-Kretsen and Batterikretsen provides a collection and recycling system.

WHAT IS INCLUDED IN THE ENVIRONMENTAL FEE?

Electronic equipment

The variable fee covers transport from El-Kretsen’s collection points as well as sorting, recycling and disposal of collected Consumer electronic waste.

El-Kretsen does not offer to collect and treat Other electronic equipment on the same basis as Consumer electronics. Products that are difficult to handle on account of size or other aspects may require handling that is not covered by the environmental fee. If the producer or end user wishes to deposit the WEEE or wishes El-Kretsen to collect it, additional charges may apply. A quote for such charges will be given on each occasion. When other WEEE is to be collected, the producer or end user is advised to first discuss the matter with El-Kretsen.

Batteries

The fees include access to Batterikretsen’s approved collection system, all administration, collection, transportation and recycling, as well as advice and support related to the services.

FEE FOR BATTERIES PREVIOUSLY MADE AVAILABLE ON THE MARKET

Regarding the Affiliation Agreement, clause 7.2. A fee for batteries made available on the market before the entry into force of the agreement is handled individually through an agreement based on the report of batteries previously made available on the market, submitted by the Connected Company. Normally, no such fee is charged for Portable batteries, Light means of transport batteries, Starting/Lighting/Ignition batteries, and Industrial batteries under 25 kg, and in these cases no reporting is required.

FEE ADJUSTMENT FOR BATTERIES

Regarding the Affiliation Agreement, clause 7.8. If a fee has been paid incorrectly due to errors in the Connected Company’s reporting, a refund may be applicable (“Fee adjustment”). Normally, the refund corresponds to the amount that was incorrectly paid. In special cases, for example if the Connected Company has repeatedly provided incorrect information or otherwise demonstrated insufficient compliance with the applicable reporting rules, the refund may be set at a lower amount or not be granted at all.

EXTRA CHARGE FOR BATTERIES IN EXTRAORDINARY CASES

Regarding the Affiliation Agreement, clause 7.5, the following examples constitutes examples of extraordinary cases:

  • The Battery cannot be picked up due to road conditions (impassable road, etc.)
  • The Battery cannot be picked up because it is still permanently installed in building, vehicle, or equipment (requires disassembly)
  • The Battery is in a high-risk environment (i.e., roof, shaft, mines, tunnels)
  • The Battery is in a dangerous work environment (i.e., threatening situation, animals, landslide, collapse, or similar)

PAYMENT OF SURPLUS

Payment of surplus is made once a year to producers who have reported in categories where revenue from the sale of materials exceeds the costs of collection, transport and recycling.

Clarifications

DEFINITION: OTHER ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT

Simply put, other electronic equipment can be explained as products that are not categorized as consumer electronics.

CLARIFICATION ON LIGHTING PRODUCTS: CONSUMER ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT

Luminaire with integrated lighting is declared as luminaire. If you sell a luminaire together with a replaceable light source, the luminaire is declared as luminaire and the light source on a separate row for Light sources.If, for example, light sources are sold in a package of 3 pieces, they shall be declared as 3 in number and the total weight of the three light sources.

CLARIFICATION ON LIGHTING PRODUCTS: OTHER ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT

Removable light sources are to be declared as consumer products (in code 5.2 or 5.3) regardless of whether they are sold in a consumer or an “other electronic equipment”-luminaire. Light sources that are integrated in the luminaire, are declared as luminaries.

LOOSE, BUILT-IN AND INCLUDED BATTERIES

When a battery is sold as its own product, for example a package with 4 loose batteries, you enter 4 pieces on the selected row for that type of battery, and the total weight of the four batteries. For built-in batteries and batteries included with a product you report the product weight, including the weight of the battery on the row for the product, and the battery weight on the row for batteries.

EXTRA WEIGHT: BATTERIES

Industrial and electric vehicle batteries can in some cases have heavy steel casings, be built into containers, and contain counterweights. The extra weight is not charged with an environmental fee. Batteries that include extra weight therefore need to be declared separately with total weight and with battery weight only. The total weight is needed to report correct statistics to Naturvårdsverket.

ABOUT THE CODES: BATTERIES

The first letter indicates the battery category (based on the Swedish name): B = Portable batteries, L = Light means of transport batteries, S = Starting, lighting, ignition batteries, I = Industrial batteries, E = Electric vehicle batteries.

(A), (B), (C), (D) stands for the size. (A) = ≤5 kg, (B) = 5 kg – 25 kg, (C) = 25 kg – 100 kg, (D) = >100 kg. Electric vehicle batteries only have the two largest sizes (C) and (D).

The number is a sequential number that stands for the chemical chemichal composition. It follows the same order as before, e.g. if the battery previously had the code 11.4 NiMh, it now has the code B4 NiMh.

Lithium-ion is a group of different rechargeable battery types that, in addition to lithium, contain other substances. You need to find out what type of li-ion battery you have, e.g. through the manufacturer’s safety data sheet. For portable batteries, there is an unspecified code for li-ion (B77), if you have not had time to find out which type you have. This will be available throughout 2026, but will be removed from 2027.

DEFINITIONS OF THE DIFFERENT BATTERY CATEGORIES

Portable battery: Means a battery that is sealed, weighs 5 kg or less, is not designed specifically for industrial use and is neither an electric vehicle battery, an LMT battery, nor an SLI battery.

Light means of transport battery or LMT battery: Means a battery that is sealed, weighs 25 kg or less and is specifically designed to provide electric power for the traction of wheeled vehicles that can be powered by an electric motor alone or by a combination of motor and human power, including type-approved vehicles of category L within the meaning of Regulation (EU) No 168/2013 of the European Parliament and of the Council (43), and that is not an electric vehicle battery.

Starting, lighting and ignition battery or SLI battery: Means a battery that is specifically designed to supply electric power for starting, lighting, or ignition and that can also be used for auxiliary or backup purposes in vehicles, other means of transport or machinery.

Industrial battery: Means a battery that is specifically designed for industrial uses, intended for industrial uses after having been subject to preparation for repurposing or repurposing, or any other battery that weighs more than 5 kg and that is neither an electric vehicle battery, an LMT battery, nor an SLI battery.

Electric vehicle battery: Means a battery that is specifically designed to provide electric power for traction in hybrid or electric vehicles of category L as provided forin Regulation (EU) No 168/2013, that weighs more than 25 kg, or a battery that is specifically designed to provide electric power for traction in hybrid or electric vehicles of categories M, N or O as provided for in Regulation (EU) 2018/858
